5 Wisdoms
1. If you are right, then there is no need to get angry.
And if you are wrong then you don't have any right to get angry.
2. Patience with family is love.
Patience with others is respect.
Patience with self is confidence.
3. Never think hard about past, It brings tears.
Don't think more about future, It brings fears.
Live this moment with a smile, It brings cheers.
4. Every test in our life makes us bitter or better.
Every problem comes to make us or break us.
Choice is ours, whether we become victim or victorious.
5. Search a beautiful heart, not a beautiful face.
Beautiful things are not always good, but good things are always beautiful.

Sabr and Shukr
As-salaam-u-alaikum one and all,
Hope you are well and warm.......in pretoria, sa it has been really really icy cold over the past few days and sometimes it becomes impossible to move away from the heater...LOL. Today I'd like to share with you another story in my simple life. For the past 1 and 1/2 half I have been a housewife and mother. Previously to that I worked, like most mothers. Beside organisational politics and the monotonous routine, I resigned from a job of six years with the support of my husband due to not being entirely happy. When I initially resigned we knew that things would not be easy, we were going to loose an entire salary. I was willing to live on bread and butter and have my son taken out of an Islamic school and put into a government school. I did say to my husband I will try my best to do something from home in order to assist with the financial burden. But like it goes, words come easier than actions. I did do a few odd jobs of cooking, cvs, catering and doing assignments to earn an income but it went very slow. I was studying life coaching at the time and thought once I completed, maybe that will help bring in an income. Besides trying to earn an income, I was really happy at home.........I remember my friends always asking "dont you get bored"?....Lol. I sometimes don't even have enough time in the day to do all that I want to. I was at peace with myself, I started praying my namaaz's that I would usually miss out on, I started praying more of the Quraan, I even lost weight, my son was doing better at school and my husband was happy coming home to a home cooked meal everyday. Please do not misunderstand this . I am not encouraging all working women to stay at home but just sharing with you how Allah never left us. As each month passed my husband never failed at putting food on the table, till now I am grateful to Allah, I am short of nothing. I have a roof over my head, food everynight, my health and my family. When I worked I constantly looked for ways to use my money to make us happy, we always thought more of this and that will make us happy but in the process I was loosing what was so precious to me; my life as a muslimah, my time with my son, being a wife. From living on a salary check, I began to live on Sabr and Shukr and I have not looked back. I still am looking to do something in order to gain identity for myself but I learned a "HUGE" lesson money doesn't buy you or your famil y happiness. Now I truly understand when All ah, says "Trust in me, I am sufficient for you." We live our lives in so much of stress and anxiety yet we will only receive what is due to us by our Creator, Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal. May Allah stand by us all in our times of need, Inshallah, Ameen

The Significance of Shabe Baraat
The Significance of Shabe Baraat
- This night is called Shabe-Baraat (the night of freedom) because Allah Azza Wa Jal frees all His sinful servants who were destines for Jahannam.
- The Quraan has called it a blessed night
- Nabi (SAW) has said in a Hadith regarding this month. "Shabaan is my month and Ramadhaan is the month of Allah Azza Wa Jal."
- This month is an introduction to Ramadhaan, Shawaal hail the end of Ramadhaan
- Allah Taala's mercy descends during this night
- During this night, beginning at sunset Allah Taala's special attention descends upon the first sky. He proclaims, "Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may pardon him? Is there anyone requesting sustenance that I may provide for him? Is there anyone afflicted with difficulty (so that he may ask for assistance) that I may help him? Is there anyone with any other need?
- Allah Taala showers His mercy the entire night up until Subah Saadiq (early morning-dawn).
- Nabi (SAW) was so mindful of Shabaan that he did not give the sighting of the moon of any other month such thought.
- It is also a speciality of this month, that all deeds done during the year shall be presented before Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal in this month.
- Nabi (SAW) stated that the month of Shabaan which is between Rajab and Ramadhaan, is such a month that people are negligent of its blessedness. It is during this month that the actions of the servants are presented before Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal. Therefore Nabi (SAW) loved that his deeds be presented while he was fasting.
- During the 15th of Shabaan Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal shows special attention to all His servant s, he pardons those who seek forgiveness and He showers mercy on those on those who show mercy to others as for those who grudge and have enmity for others, Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal leaves them in the very same condition.
- It is mentioned by Nabi (SAW) that the remainder of a person's life in the coming year and his sustenance and whoever shall be afforded the opportunity to perform Hajj (pilgrimage) shall be written on this night.
- During this night , the names of the souls of all those who are born and of all those who are to depart from this world. Furthermore during this night one's actions are raised and sustenance sent down.
- Nabi (SAW) has prohibited one from fasting after the 15th of Shabaan. This prohibition does not cause the fast to become Haraam. The reason for prohibiting fasting after the 15th of Shabaan is for one to gain strength of Ramadhaan.
- It has been proven, from authentic sources, that the noble Sahaba and the Taabieen used to remain awake during the entire night and practice upon the Sunnat Amals. Our noble predecessors also used to honor this night and prepare for well in advance.
- Committing sins during this night deprives a person of its blessings
- As the reward of virtue increases respective to the time and place, so does the degree of sin. When during a significant time any amal is more virtuous so does the evil and sin committed in that time be more abhorred. The law of place and time falls under the same category, e.g. on may commit the same wrong in the Musjid and the degree of that sin shall increase. In the same manner this night is so blessed that committing a sin during this night shall be more severe.
- One should stay awake and perform salah, keep oneself busy with zikr, recitation of the Holy Quraan and other worship. Do also recite the Masnoon Dua of this night excessively
- To ask Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal for forgiveness, health, happiness and all our needs for this world and the Hereafter
- To busy oneself with Ibadaat (worship) during the entire night of Shabe Baraat
- It is Mustahab (preferrable) to fast on the 15th of Shabaan. Our predecessors did so too
- One should visit the qabarastaan (graveyard) and make Dua and seek forgiveness on behalf of the deceased
- It is stated in a Hadeeth that Nabi (SAW) said, "One who performs Esha Salaat with Jamaat and Fajr Salaat with Jamaat, Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal will grant him the reward of staying up the entire night." There are glad tidings for the weak and those engaged in business, that if they are not able to stay awake the entire nigth, they should try to remain awake as much as possible and to perform Fajr and Esha Salaat with Jammat, so that they may not be completely deprived of the blessings of this night.
- Hazrat Aisha Sidiqah Radiallahu Anha says, " I heard the Nabi (SAW) reciting the following dua whilst prostrating in Nafl Salaah:
Nabi (SAW) repeated this dua continuously in Sajdah. This Dua was taught to the Ummat by our beloved Nabi (SAW) .
The following sins are so severe that due to them one would be deprived of the blessings of this great night:
- To associate any partners with Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal, regarding His Being and Qualities
- To have enmity for one's fellow brothers
- Not fulfilling the rights of our close relatives and treating them unkindly
- To allow the trousers and pants to hang below the ankles
- To be disobedient to the parents
- To drink wine
- To oppress and take bribes
- To be involved in witchcraft
- To inform people of the unseen or to cast spells and be involved in fortune telling
- To read palms in order to tell the future
- To play the guitar, drum or any other musical instrument
- To play any game that requires the use of dice
And Allah Taala Azza Wa Jal is the only one who grants us the ability and divine assistance.
Our Saintly Elders used to worship on the night of Shabe Baraat and fast the next day.
Oh ALLAH we humbly beg of You, Your forgiveness for any of our shortcomings and we beg of You, Your Divine help and assistance, AAMEN.
My headscarf
As-salaam-u-alaikum,
Its been a few days since my very first post and I already feel guilty for neglecting my blog. In this post I would like to share with you the very first time I put on my headscarf. It was five years ago 2007 in Ramadhaan. At the time I worked and most working women only adorned the headscarf in Ramadhaan and then forget about it thereafter and I was also guilty of this. In that sacred month I decided that I needed to give back to my Rabb for all that he had blessed me with. Initially I was extremely determined and with all my other Muslim colleagues around me also wearing the headscarf during Ramadhaan, the transition seemed so simple but then came post Eid and everything went back to normal. All my muslim colleagues removed their scarves and there I was living up to my decision. I started re-thinking if I was sure of what I was doing. I did not feel beautiful, my headscarf became a bit heavy on my head. I hated how negative I became towards the most beautiful attire of a Muslimah. I did some introspection and asked myself why I was doing this and what it meant to me. Eventually my scarf collection grew. As much as I was trying hard to be motivated to maintain this new way of life, the people around me also motivated me to continue on this new journey. I received a whole lot more respect, especially from the opposite gender. Many people from other faiths asked the reason behind the covering and by explaining to them the significance I was indirectly inspiring myself. We are all capable of sin and we are also capable for making right. Inshallah, to those who are trying to adorn the headscarf, my dua for you is that you eventually succeed and don't put it down for another day, tomorrow may never come. When a Muslimah puts on her headscarf it becomes her voice without her speaking a single word.

Objective of this blog
As-salaam-u-alaikum dear visitor,
The objective of this blog is to inspire, motivate and encourage Muslim reverts and even born Muslims to stay "Stuck on Islam". In my opinion our lives are slowly moving away from spirituality and all I want to do is lend a helping hand. But, make no mistake I do know that I will be learning a lot as well. Being a muslimah in this day and age is a wonderful feeling but we often get sidetracked with the busi-ness of life that we forget who we really are and we allow others judgement to make us feel small and sometimes insignificant. But this blog is not about judging, naming or blaming, I would like for it to be an online platform to allow each visitor the honour of feeling special as they truly are. Islam is very dear to my heart and so is my spirituality and the spirituality of others. Inshallah may this blog continue from strength to strength while making a difference in each visitors life. Ameen......signed Faraasha
